Shortly after opening VetSurg in October 2015, Dr. Holsworth and his wife Gloria went to a pet adoption fair in Santa Clarita, California. While spreading the word about VetSurg, the couple couldn’t help but notice the little dog with the big personality, who was sadly the last remaining non-adopted dog at the event. Dr. Holsworth and Gloria immediately scooped him up and welcomed him into their family.

Dr. Holsworth is a 1991 graduate of the University of Melbourne Veterinary School, Post-graduation Dr. Holsworth spent 8 years in general practice before becoming an examined Member of the Surgery College of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in 1995. A surgical Fellowship at the Michigan State Veterinary Teaching Hospital was completed in 2000 prior to commencement of a three-year surgical Resident position at the University of California, Davis Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Dr. Holsworth is currently the practice Director and Senior Surgeon of VetSurg in Ventura, California.

Commencing in 2006, Dr Holsworth has provided national and international surgical instruction in didactic lectures, surgical laboratories and via digital platforms. Areas of expertise include minimally invasive joint surgery with a special focus on arthroscopy and joint stabilization. In 2018, Dr. Holsworth was designated by the Board of Regents of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) as an ACVS Founding Fellow in Minimally Invasive Surgery. Joining a select few in the world with this accreditation, Dr. Holsworth was selected for his exemplary training, experience, and practice in the multidisciplinary approach to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of patients undergoing minimally invasive therapies and for his devotion to research in the field of minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Webb is a graduate of the University of Melbourne Veterinary School and an examined Member of the Surgery College of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists. She attained American College of Veterinary Surgeon Board certification as a specialist small animal surgeon and enjoys all aspects of soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, especially minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Sapora is originally from Florida and graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Following veterinary school, he completed a one-year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Wisconsin. Launching VetSurg with her husband Dr. Holsworth in October 2015, Gloria brings over 23 years of client care, marketing and design experience to the practice. She is the main contact for our referral veterinarians while also overseeing the practice’s marketing communications. Gloria is currently developing the “Stewey” collection featuring VetSurg’s mascot Stewart, who Dr. Holsworth and Gloria adopted from Bow-Wows and Meow’s Pet Fair in 2015.
Megan has worked in the industry with Dr. Holsworth since 2007.
Chawnie started in the veterinary field in 2008, working in a specialty practice until joining VetSurg in 2016. She is mom to Mele, a Siberian Husky.
For as long as she can remember, dogs and cats have been a focal point in Bethany’s life. As a child, she was provided early exposure to veterinary medicine observing her mom as a veterinary technician. “I fell in love and knew that I was destined to work with animals in some capacity,” stated Basel. In her personal time, Bethany enjoys taking adventures with her two rescue dogs, Kona and Willie.
Robert has been working in veterinary medicine for the past 20 years, with 17 years specifically working in surgical practices. Robert says that he particularly enjoys Arthroscopy, Laparoscopy and general orthopedics.
Rebecca has worked since 2001 in specialty practices, with over 14 of those years as an anesthetist. She has been a licensed RVT since 2010.
Cambria has worked in the veterinary field since 2013. In addition to being an RVT she also has her BS in Animal Science from Cal Poly SLO. In her spare time Cambria enjoys hiking and biking.
Cathy has been with VetSurg since its opening, working as an instrument technician. She has one kitty at home named Vinnie who rules the house.
In 2000, Cindy started her career working with animals at Walt Disney World, after obtaining her BS in Animal Science from the University of Florida. She eventually transitioned to veterinary medicine, joining VetSurg in 2017 as one of our night care nurses. She LOVES beagles and currently shares her home with Maggie, her favorite beagle.
Carissa joined VetSurg in 2018 as a veterinary assistant, bringing with her an extensive background in exotic animal and canine training.  She completed an Animal Training & Management program in 2004 and has been working in the field since that time. We are happy Carissa has joined her sister Candace in our patient care team.
Eric joined VetSurg in the summer of 2018 as one our overnight patient care assistants. Eric has 13 years of experience in the veterinary industry. His extensive knowledge and experience in patient care along with his organizational and analytical skills are warmly welcomed here at VetSurg.
Michelle joined VetSurg in January 2019, and has worked in the veterinary industry since 2016.
She will be sitting for her California Registered Veterinary Technician boards shortly. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys hiking outdoors and spending time with her family
During his last year of high school Jose was enrolled in a Veterinarian Assistant class offered by the Regional Occupational Program (ROP). While in this program Jose interned at a local primary veterinary practice where he began learning about veterinary medicine. When not caring for our patients, Jose enjoys the creative outlets of painting and drawing.
“Rosie has been working as a bookkeeper for nine years and started at VetSurg in February 2016. Her fur babies include Petunia, a 10 year old Chihuahua and Herbie, an 11 year Papillon mix.
